You
can buy units in the trust
Buy now and save!
Units in Environment House Trust are still available,
at the price of $1500. The value of the units is tied to the
Valuer General’s valuation. With revaluation of the property 2007, the value of units
have tripled from the original issue price. Now is
a good time to invest in anticipation of the next revaluation. To purchase your
unit/s please contact Ross Ulman [EHT Trustee] PO Box 75 Deloraine Tas,
7304 Australia. Phone (03) 63631230.
If you buy a unit in Environment House Trust
now you can help TEA's PTR appeal
At your request when you purchase, the trustees will
transfer the payment for units directly to the appeal funds to assist TEA's appeal against PTR
1698. Several unit holders have already done this to support
Environment House, the PTR appeal and gained a share in a valuable
asset all at the same time. What a great way to help. Don’t forget
that value of the units is tied to the government valuation.
Revaluation this year will probably see that the value of the house
and therefore the units will double. To purchase a unit please contact

You
can volunteer in renovations and maintenance
Update on renovations
In 2005, Environment House has had a new coat of paint
to its external, west-facing wall. As well there have been several
urgent repairs carried out to improve the usability of the house,
including replacing the old toilet with a dual flush/low water use
model. Thanks to the volunteers who did renovation work. Thanks also
to the Meander Valley Council for a grant of $860 through its
Community Grants scheme for a Redring Powerstream instant hot-water
service. The unit is installed but unfortunately it is not yet
providing hot water as the house needs some new wiring to bring it
from the 19th century to the 21st! Hopefully this will be done in the
near future. Room 2 is still leased by our tenant, Mary Jane Vaughan
Homeopathy. We now have a second room ready for rental and hope to
have it occupied by early in the New Year. The funds raised by renting
one room help keep The Environment Association afloat by covering
rates and insurance. Rental from a second room will assist in TEA's
campaigns and outreach.
During 2007-08 we hope to produce a plan for the
redevelopment of the house to provide more space, solar heating, a
catering standard kitchen, solar electricity [grid interactive] and
composting toilets. The solar upgrade could be hastened with
Commonwealth Government rebate, and the panels would be installed on
the back of the roof so as to use the northern sun and consequently
will not intrude on the heritage street façade. What a show place for environmental care it will
be! We hope this process will start at the next AGM with an exciting
guest speaker.
You
can become a trustee
EHT is seeking more trustees. If you
think you might be interested in undertaking such an official
administrative role, please phone Ross Ulman [63631230]. The
work involved is not onerous, but more trustees will bring greater energy to the
project
You
can become a tenant
Second Room available for Rent
One room is leased; a second room is available for rental. We are looking for
another tenant whose profession/business is compatible with

hands of Lennice of Deloraine 1st National Real Estate. If you
think you might be Environment House’s new tenant please give Lennice a
call on 6362 3570.

non-funded groups), which includes seating for 20-25 people, use of
