The Freycinet National Park abuts Coles Bay, on the
sunny east coast of Tasmania, Australia. As
well as the main Freycinet section, the Park also includes the separates
Friendly Beaches and Schouten Island. Freycinet has many points of
interest - spectacular pink granite boulders and mountains, sweeping coastal vistas, secluded
beaches including the iconic Wineglass Bay, coastal cliffs, varied bushwalks,
east coast peninsular ecology with flowers, heaths, she-oak and banksia havens
and forested hills, marine reserves, fishing areas, abundant birds and readily
visible wildlife.
Along Tasmania's warm east coast, Freycinet is accessible by sealed roads. You're
welcome to visit
for a few hours or a few days. On Freycinet you will find yourself walking or
climbing in friendly natural surroundings. The Visitor Centre and nearby Coles
Bay supplies most facilities and conveniences. Activities include scenic drives,
short strolls, medium and overnight
bushwalks, visiting natural features, seeing wildlife at close quarters,
birdwatching, mountain biking, boating,
kayaking, snorkelling, scuba diving, swimming, fishing, climbing, camping and
photography.
